IUFRO 2024 participation

From 23 June 2024 to 29 June 2024

Stockholm, Sweden

Thanks to the stand held by the Congo Basin Forest Partnership (CBFP), OFVi was able to make its voice heard at the 26th International Congress of IUFRO, which took place in Stockholm from 23 to 29 June 2024.

IUFRO 2024 is one of the major events of this year: it is the largest world congress ever organised, with over 4,200 participants from more than 102 countries. Scientists from a wide range of disciplines debated forestry and social issues with young people, policy-makers, forest managers, business representatives and civil society organisations.

Under the lead of the Franco-Gabonese co-facilitation, the CBFP provided its partners (CBSI, R2FAC, Université de Laval, etc.) and OFVi with a stand in the main exhibition hall. Through its deputy coordinator, Camille Lacroux (INRAE), the initiative was able to inform a large number of passers-by about the forestry issues facing the Congo Basin, by providing brochures and organising a 30-minute workshop on cooperation and capacity-building.

The event was also an opportunity to meet potential European partners interested in the initiative and the Country Packages.
