Co-construction

Co-construction

OFVi offers an original and exemplary model for the co-construction of scientific activities, the development of platforms and capacity building between French institutions, partner institutions in forest countries as well as European and international institutions.

Co-construction is part of the governance of the initiative, which includes an International Partnership Council and OFVi Committees for each forest country. It is pursued through an innovative approach based on national Workshops bringing together all the partner institutions as well as national and international experts. Participation may be extended to local political authorities, NGOs and, in particular, representatives of young people and indigenous populations. The aim of these workshops is to draw up concrete, costed action plans with a view to strengthening research and capacities to support countries' conservation ambitions. These workshops, organised as part of Pillar 4, use the latest management methods from business incubators, such as OKR (Objectives and Key Results), which are rarely used in the scientific community. Co-construction will then continue to reach potential users of OFVi products through the launch of Hackathons, which will enable new uses to be identified by civil society, citizens and the private sector. All of these co-construction processes will be inclusive, transparent, benevolent and respectful of diversity.
