Gabon (in the process of being formalised)

A Gabon-France workshop organised by the initiative was held in Libreville from 22^nd to 24^th November 2023. The full report of this workshop is available, as well as a summarised version. This report was the basis for discussions concerning a scientific partnership.

On 28 October 2024, at COP16 in Cali, Gabon signed a Country Package for Forests, Nature and Climate (CP) with several institutions, including the French Republic (Declaration signed).

OFVi is positioned to support the scientific and capacity-building aspects for Gabon. More specifically, the initiative's ambitions are in line with the third component of the CP: "To strengthen the material, financial and human capacities of scientific research at national level in order to better support efforts to conserve vital carbon and biodiversity reserves, by capitalising on current projects and drawing in particular on the One Forest Vision initiative and the Congo Basin Science Initiative".
